Privacy policy

This Privacy Policy explains how DhakaVPN, operated by dhakaclouds in Bangladesh ("we", "our", or "the app"), accesses, collects, uses, shares, protects, retains, and deletes information when you use the DhakaVPN Android app and website.

1. Information we collect

• Account information — your name, phone number, email address, and securely hashed password, used to create and identify your account.
• Voucher and plan information — voucher codes you redeem and details of your active package or plan.
• Connection and usage metadata — the VPN server you connect to, connection start and stop times, assigned VPN address, and total data transferred. We use this information to operate the service, enforce plan validity, device, bandwidth, and speed limits, prevent abuse, and provide support.
• Support information — support-ticket messages, replies, and any screenshot you voluntarily attach or capture.

2. VPN traffic and encryption

• DhakaVPN uses Android VpnService and WireGuard to create an encrypted tunnel from your device to the selected DhakaVPN VPN endpoint.
• We do not log, inspect, or store the websites you visit, DNS query history, or the content of your traffic while connected.
• Websites and online services will see the VPN server's IP address instead of your device's public IP address while the VPN is connected.

3. How we use information

We use the information described above to create and authenticate accounts, provide and secure VPN connections, enforce service-plan limits, redeem vouchers, respond to support requests, prevent fraud and abuse, and maintain service reliability.

4. Data sharing

If your account is associated with a reseller, that reseller can view your account and usage status to provide service and support. Transactional email providers process the email address and message required to deliver account emails such as password-reset codes. Hosting and VPN infrastructure providers process data only as needed to operate the service. We do not sell personal information and do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the Android app. We may disclose information when required by applicable law.

5. Data security and retention

The app communicates with our API over HTTPS, VPN traffic is encrypted to the VPN endpoint, passwords are stored as secure hashes, and app authentication tokens are stored using Android encrypted secure storage. We retain account and service metadata while your account is active. When you delete your account, the personal data described below is deleted. Voucher transaction records may be retained without a link to your deleted account where reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, accounting, or legal compliance.

6. Account and data deletion

You can permanently delete your account from DhakaVPN by opening Profile, selecting Delete Account, entering your password, and confirming. This deletes your profile, login tokens, VPN peer keys, support tickets, ticket screenshots, messages, and app-notification records. 7. Your choices

You may contact us to request access to or correction of your account information. Camera access is used only when you choose to scan a voucher/QR code or attach a support screenshot; you can deny this permission and use available manual alternatives.

8. Children

DhakaVPN is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, our practices, or legal requirements change. The latest revision date is displayed on this page.
